
Meet Jamel Morris-Barclay
Originally from Queens, New York, Jamel Morris-Barclay grew up in South Florida. Entering college, he temporarily stayed local. He transferred from Miami Dade College and majored in Recording Industry Management- Audio Production at Middle Tennesee State University. Jamel has since graduated and is focused on his continued pursuit of academic and professional goals.
Jamel’s passion is Music. Regarded by his peers, Morris-Barclay’s experience and energy are focused on Production and Performance. Jamel was formerly rehearsing and performing with a band called SoundTheory, performing solo music for different events, and is putting together the materials for a solo EP. Inspired by the works of people such as Pharrell Williams, Justin Timberlake, Ne-Yo, Kanye West, Patrick Stump, and Ryan Leslie, his dream is to have creative control for production, writing, and performing. Morris-Barclay’s most recent project is out on all platforms.
Jamel is also very interested and is actively pursuing voice acting/ participating in voice-over activities.
When not working, or performing, Morris-Barclay enjoys reading, writing poetry, watching movies, and working on his craft. For now, he is dedicated to writing and creating his next musical project, hosting a weekly virtual karaoke show through Instagram, and is in discussions regarding other performative endeavors. Recognizing that many opportunities and challenges lay ahead, Jamel embraces the future with a commitment to excellence that will undoubtedly facilitate the realization of lifelong dreams.
